The quarantine imposed on those who have been in close contact with persons infected with coronavirus is extended from 10 days to 14 days. It is an official quarantine ordered by a communicable disease doctor and entitles the person to receive communicable disease daily allowance. In cases of family exposures, the quarantine period is 21 days.

The minimum isolation period ordered for an infected person by the communicable disease control physician is also extended from 7 days to 10 days.

The changes have been made because of the new coronavirus variants, which may spread and be transmitted faster than the previous strains of coronavirus.
