Save the date of our webinar “Building back better – Disability leadership and the way forward” on 9 February 2021. The webinar deals with COVID-19 effects and disability leadership in the Nordic countries.

In the morning session we are focusing in the COVID-19 pandemic’s effects on persons with disabilities. We will hear i.e. 

  • Maria Montefusco from the Nordic Welfare Center,
  • Sif Holst from the Disabled People's Organisations Denmark,
  •  Amu Urhonen formerly from the International Committee of the Red Cross and
  • Jaska Siikavirta from the Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health.

Researchers of the Finnish institute for health and welfare will present preliminary results from studies made in Finland on the impacts of COVID-19 on persons with disabilities. 

In the afternoon session Maria Montefusco will lead us to the theme of disability leadership and its prospects. Tuomas Tuure from Abilis Foundation will moderate a discussion on the issue where we hear views of persons with disabilities from all the Nordic countries.

The webinar is hosted by Nordic Welfare Centre, an institution in the Nordic Council of Ministers’ social and health sector. The conference is part of Finland's Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2021. 

Registration to the webinar will be opened in January 2021. Participation is free of charge.
