THL Biobank does not currently accept new enquiries or applications from researchers
Due to the outcome of the change negotiations in Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare, THL Biobank does not currently accept any new feasibility or access requests from researchers.
In the negotiation proposal, the employer estimated that the adjustment requires a reduction of at most 200 person-years, which is about 15 per cent of THL's personnel. The adjustment is so extensive that it will apply number of different activities in the institution. Substantial reductions will be implemented also to the biobanking activities. THL Biobank will continue its operations in the autumn, when the form of operation has been redefined.
The inquiries and contacts from the sample donors will be handled as before.
