The objective of the Tobacco Act is to end the use of tobacco and nicotine products. Key measures to achieve this goal include raising the age limit for products to 20 years, reducing the nicotine content of nicotine pouches and banning flavourings, as well as gradually reducing the number of sales points. Smoke-free living environments and regular tax increases on all tobacco and nicotine products reduce use. Cessation of tobacco and nicotine use is an important part of the prevention and treatment of non-communicable diseases.
