Student health care in upper secondary education is being reformed – educational videos for public health nurses published
Student health care will be reformed starting from the 2026 autumn term. In the reform, the health examinations in student health care and the preliminary health examination of the Finnish Defence Forces are combined for people of compulsory education age. Student health care services will start using a digital health survey.
Very low risk of hantavirus to the European population
The wider spread of disease caused by hantavirus in Europe is unlikely, and the risk to the public is very low, according to a risk assessment published by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). Two Finnish travellers may have been exposed to hantavirus on an aeroplane in Johannesburg.

Children and young people with a foreign background fare worse than children and young people with two Finnish-born parents across several domains of health, well-being and safety. The differences are particularly evident in boys’ health and well-being. The findings are based on the School Health Promotion study conducted by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).
