Call for papers: The fourth GAMIC Workshop
Current Research on Gambling in the Nordic Context
March 30-31, 2023, Helsinki, Finland
The fourth GAMIC workshop explores current issues in Nordic gambling research. The three previous GAMIC workshops proved that there is a need for Nordic co-operation in the field of gambling research as well as for context-sensitive gambling research. Although the Nordic countries share socio-cultural similarities, there are also important differences between the countries. This workshop brings Nordic researchers together to deepen existing research co-operations.
We invite scientific researchers and research groups to submit an abstract for oral presentations on current questions in Nordic gambling studies. We warmly encourage also younger researchers to submit abstracts on their research. The presentations may discuss research plans, preliminary results, or already published results.
The presentations must have a strong scientific basis. The abstract proposal should explain the topic of your presentation and describe why the research is important to the field in the Nordic context. Acceptance will be based on the quality of research, on the relevance of the theme to the workshop, and on the overall balance of the workshop.
Abstracts have a 300-word limit. The abstract submission deadline is January 31, 2023. Please state the name of the presenter, affiliation, and contact information in your abstract. All abstract submitters will be notified of the outcome by February 15, 2023. Reasonable travel and accommodation costs for one presenter per presentation will be reimbursed by the organizers.
The workshop is funded and organized by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare, University of Bergen and EHYT Finnish Association for Substance Abuse Prevention.
