Building capacity in prevention of HIV and associated infections among youth at high risk
The project aims to improve capacity among professionals working in HIV prevention targeted to youth at high risk. The work was carried out to support the Northern Dimension Partnership in Public Health and Social Well-being (NDPHS) in its cooperation with Russia in areas falling into the priorities of the NDPHS.
Target groups
- officials working on combating HIV
- scientific community
- international and governmental organizations as well as NGOs working on HIV prevention among children and young people at high risk of getting HIV
Beneficiaries
Children and young people at high risk of getting HIV, including
- children and youth experimenting with drugs
- children and youth involved in commercial sexual exploitation
- migrant youth
Expected results
- Needs of children and young people at high risk of getting HIV and AI in Northwest Russia and other countries of Northern Dimension are mapped
- Best practices on HIV prevention among children and young people at high risk of getting HIV and AI, which could be spread in the region, are identified
- Professionals working with children and young people at high risk of getting HIV and AI are trained in prevention of HIV and AI
- Best practices on HIV and AI prevention among children and young people at high risk of getting HIV and AI are piloted in Northwest Russia
- Guidelines for decision-makers and stakeholders working with children and young people at high risk of getting HIV and AI on the best practices of prevention in these groups is developed.
