Development of a new collaboration programme for the Barents Euro-Arctic Council’s Joint Working Group on Health and Related Social Issues

The Joint Working Group on Health and Related Social Issues (JWGHS) develops and oversees the cooperation on health and related social issues in the Barents region under supervision of the Barents Euro-Arctic Council. The JWGHS prepares and adopts a cooperation programme for a period of four years. The JWGHS nominated a small working group to prepare a new programme for the years 2016–2019 and the Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health nominate an expert from THL to the working group to represent the Ministry. The new Framework Programme for Cooperation on Health and Related Social Issues in the Barents Euro-Arctic region was adopted in the JWGHS meeting in Luleå, Sweden in October 2015.
