European Health Care Outcomes, Performance and Efficiency.
Objectives
The project researched and compared European health care systems, performance and efficiency for 5 important diseases: acute myocardial infarction, hip fracture, very low birth weight infants, breast cancer and stroke.
Implementation
Research utilised the latest tools and methodologies from health economic research together with register-based data from 7 European countries: Finland, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Italy, Hungary and UK (Scotland). Levels of comparisons were hospital, area and national levels.
