Healthy Finland Survey 2022–2023
Healthy Finland Survey 2022–2023
The Healthy Finland survey includes an extensive questionnaire in even-numbered years, which will provide up-to-date information on the health, well-being and service use of adults living in Finland, as well as on changes and future developments in these areas. This data can be used to produce an up-to-date situation picture for the different wellbeing services counties.
How was the survey conducted?
Respondents were asked to answer a questionnaire about the well-being and health of adults living in Finland and their experiences of social and health services. The questionnaire could be answered either online or using the paper form. Three questionnaires tailored to different age groups (20-54 years old, 55-74 years old, 75 years old and over) were used to collect data. In addition, 20–74-year-olds were asked to answer questions on either working life (the "working life module") or climate change and social sustainability (the "future module"). The questionnaire could be answered in four different languages: Finnish, Swedish, English or Russian.
Who could participate?
The participants for the Healthy Finland survey were randomly selected from the data of the Digital and Population Data Services Agency. Only people chosen to the survey could participate. A sample of 2 800 people was drawn from each of the 22 well-being areas (2 000 people aged 20-74 per well-being area and 800 people aged 75 and over per well-being area) for a total of 61 600 people.
How long did it take to fill out the questionnaire and what were the questions about?
The survey took around 30-45 minutes to complete. The questions concerned about everyday issues, such as eating, physical activity and use of services.
