Health and wellbeing for ethnic minority children and youth

The ETNOKIDS Study examined how social contexts of development, particularly family and school creates disparities in child health among ethnic majority and immigrant ethnic minorities in Finland. ETNOKIDS studied explanations for and processes behind disparities in health status, health related lifestyles and social wellbeing.

The study data of the ETNOKIDS was collected by interviews and health examinations of youth (aged 13-16) of the families who participated in the Maamu Study. Informed consent was needed from parents.

Comparative information on ethnic majority children and youth is received from the LATE Study.
