Safe Water for All (WaterFall)
Climate change, demographic changes, geopolitics, and aging infrastructure challenge Finland's ability to produce safe drinking water.
The "Safe Water for All" project focuses on improving water safety and the reliability of water supply from raw water sources to consumers.
Objectives
The project's goal is to strengthen the readiness and capabilities of water utilities to anticipate changes and make long-term decisions to ensure the production of drinking water in a changing operational environment.
Implementation
The multidisciplinary project identifies and assesses challenges related to drinking water production through risk scenarios and seeks preventive measures that promote overall water supply security.
The project combines geographic information and data analyses, field studies, water epidemic data, and legal materials into a comprehensive multi-objective assessment.
