Strengthening and modernizing the forensic services in Kosovo
The project supports the development of functions and capacities of the Department for Forensic Medicine (DFM) under the Ministry of Justice of Kosovo.
Objectives
The aim of the project is to develop the management, services and human capacities of the DFM to become fully operational and apply European and international standards and best practices in its work.
The project enhances DFM's institutional cooperation at national, regional and international levels.
Raising awareness on issues related to forensic medicine among all actors as well as among media and public is one of the goals of the project.
Implementation
The project implements a comprehensive training programme, targeted mainly to the DFM staff but open also to other actors in forensic service system in Kosovo.The training programme is implemented with inputs from several international, regional and local experts.
The project facilitates cooperation between the national and European actors in forensic medicine.
The project team supports the EU Office in Kosovo and the DFM staff in the procurement, acceptance and user training of equipment (laboratory, forensic and IT) for the DFM.
