Synthetic Opioids - Preparedness (SO-PREP)
SO PREP - Strengthening health systems’ preparedness to timely and effectively respond to increases in prevalence, use and harms of Synthetic Opioids.
Objectives
The overall objective of SO-PREP is to contribute to enhancement of the European Member States’ synthetic preparedness and responding policy and practice capabilities to related SO health risks, hazards, and harms.
SO-PREP -project wants to contribute to
- a better understanding of the current context around SO in Europe
- better informed prepared and equipped national health systems to tackle SO in Europe
- timely and adequate implementation of tailored responses to SO to mitigate related problems of dependence and (fatal and non-fatal) overdoses across Europe

SO-PREP is coordinated by the Trimbos Institute (NL) and the project partners are:
- Estonian National Institute for Health Development (TAI)
- Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL)
- Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (DE)
- Ghent University (BE) and Correlation—European Harm Reduction Network
