Objectives

The overall objective is to sustain poverty alleviation and inclusive growth in Tajikistan through the provision of support for the development of national health care and social protection systems geared towards equity, efficiency and improved quality, in line with the country's sector strategies. 

Specific objectives

  • Support the timely achievement of key sector policy
  • Improve the management of life-cycle risks and vulnerabilities through better access and utilization of primary health care and social services

Results

Result 1: Strengthened policy making and regulatory roles by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection (MoHSP) is achieved. 

Result 2: Increased access to quality health services through the overhaul of health financing mechanisms, including through capitation fees, and a focus on primary healthcare is achieved. 

Result 3: A strengthened primary healthcare system through better financing, improved and better equipped facilities and enhanced qualifications of staff and specialists is achieved. 

Result 4: Timely and cost effective provision of quality pharmaceuticals at PHC facilities and rayon hospitals is achieved. 

Result 5: Comprehensive social service delivery system with Central Government, Local Authorities and NGOs providers is operational nationwide.
