Goals
The objectives of the Isohoito project are:
- to increase awareness of climate change adaptation and mitigation in social and health care,
- to promote climate resilience and climate change mitigation in the sector,
- to prevent health impacts and mortality caused by heat risks, especially among vulnerable groups, and
- to develop the monitoring of national climate change adaptation plans
Implementation
The project will:
- Compile existing strategies and implementation plans aimed at climate change adaptation and mitigation from wellbeing services counties and summarize key themes for regional use.
- Gather good practices related to preparedness and adaptation to heat risks and climate change mitigation in the health care sector, as well as identify barriers and enabling factors for their implementation.
- Collect information on additional needs for guidelines and training concerning preparedness and adaptation to heat risks and climate change mitigation in health care.
- Produce measured data for information basis to form procedures to prevent heat-related risks and to re-assess the decree on safe and healthy indoor temperatures during summer.
- Develop the National Climate Change Adaptation Plan (KISS2030) monitoring framework and the monitoring framework for the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health’s climate change adaptation plan.
