Climate nudge: reducing greenhouse gas emissions and strengthening carbon sinks through community-based behavioral science interventions (CLIMATE-NUDGE)

The research project develops nudges to reduce transport emissions and strengthen the carbon sinks of forests. Nudging is assessed from the perspective of ethics, economics and health.

The nudges are planned together with stakeholders. Traffic nudges will be developed in cooperation with municipalities, among others. Forest management nudges are planned in cooperation with forest management organisations and forestry professionals.

Goals

  • Reduce transport emissions and increase commuting and, through this, health.
  • Enhancing forests and land use as carbon sinks.
  • Assessment of the ethicality, fairness, and health and economic impacts of nudging and guidance measures.

Implementation

The project develops and tests nudges and compares the effects of traditional steering measures together with stakeholders.
