Promotional and Preventive WorkThe JA PRISM project focuses on promoting mental health and preventing mental health challenges, particularly among vulnerable population groups such as children and young people, older adults, and individuals experiencing mental health difficulties.
The project supports the dissemination of good and promising practices across EU countries and partner states through a human rights-based approach, while also reinforcing national and regional mental health strategies.
Goals
- Promoting mental well-being and preventing mental health disorders.
- Improving access to innovative, promising, and needs-based interventions for mental health disorders.
- Enhancing quality of life through adequate, needs-based treatments, focusing on fundamental rights and tackling stigma and discrimination.
- Supporting the long-term sustainability and outcomes of good practices at the national level.
- Strengthening collaboration with the JA MENTOR project and other initiatives.
Implementation
The project will pilot three intervention models, selected from the EU Portal for Good and Promising Practices in Mental Health, in over 60 sites.
Three models to be implemented and promoted within the project are:
- BIZI (focused on suicide prevention)
- Circle of Friends® (Ystäväpiiri) (focused on alleviating loneliness among older people)
