Psychological symptoms and resources as predictors of mental health in young people seeking treatment (YEAH)

The YEAH project is a youth psychiatric survey and medical record study with register follow‑up, with a special focus on the predictive value of symptoms in relation to serious mental health disorders.

Goals

The aim of the study is to determine whether questionnaire and interview data collected at the start of treatment can provide a more accurate picture of the young person's situation and thus improve the planning of psychiatric treatment for young people.

Implementation

The study involved young people who sought youth psychiatric treatment in Helsinki, Oulu and Tampere, whose subsequent mental health is monitored in the national Care Register for Health Care.
