The WinEco project brings together the laboratories and test platforms conducting water research in Kuopio into an innovation hub and creates an operational model for collaboration with companies.
Goals
The goal of the WinEco project is to bring together environmental objectives, companies development needs, top experts, and available development platforms, as well as key companies, through the Smart Water Innovation Center (SWIC).
SWIC helps develop new, innovative high-tech solutions for international markets and produces smart water innovations. The aim is to particularly support small and medium-sized enterprises in gaining access to international markets.
Implementation
The project is based on leveraging two strong areas of expertise:
- Smart water supply solutions (Smart Water)
- Intelligent recovery processes and zero-emission plants in water treatment (Zero Emission Industry)
In the work package led by Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), the capability of the Kuopio campus area to provide analytical services will be assessed, and a joint operational platform will be established to enable external actors to access the services they need.
