Description
The statistics contain data on perinatal health in the Nordic countries.
Data content
The key indicators for perinatal health are
- number of deliveries and newborns
- total fertility rate
- proportion of multiple pregnancies
- parturient age
- parturients’ previous deliveries
- gestation age and weight at birth
- proportion of Caesarean sections
- proportion of perineal laceration of all vaginal deliveries
- proportion of smokers of all parturients

Data collection methods and data sources
Data are collected from all Nordic countries. The presented figures have been submitted by contact persons or retrieved from the websites of organisations.
Updating frequency
Every other year, in spring of even-numbered years
Time series
The length of the time series varies by country and indicator. The time series for the statistical report begin mainly in 1975.
