Rotavirus infections in Finland are monitored by THL’s Expert Microbiology unit.
Purpose of surveillance
- To keep track of the incidence of wild and vaccine-based rotaviruses.
- To identify rotavirus outbreaks.
- To monitor the efficacy of rotavirus vaccinations.
