Accessibility statement of weekly report for the monitoring of the coronavirus in wastewater

The service is subject to the Act on the Provision of Digital Services, which requires that public online services must be accessible.

This accessibility statement applies to the website: Coronavirus wastewater monitoring weekly report, on address https://www.thl.fi/episeuranta/jatevesi/wastewater_weekly_report.html

The report was created on 14 March 2023. The report is based on an accessibility assessment carried out by THL’s specialists.

Accessibility status of the service

The service does not yet meet all the AA-level and A-level criteria of the WCAG 2.1 guidelines.

The accessibility assessment identified the following deficiencies:

  • 1.1.1 Non-text content
The data contained in the graphs is available in tabular format on the Data tab, from where you can download it as an Excel file and a .csv file. The table is accessible and programmatically readable. A screen reader only partially reads the contents of the graphs. It may erroneously perceive the below graph as a part of the upper graph if the screen reader fails to detect the scale on the left-side corner.
  • 1.2.1 Information and relationships
The tab structure of the page hides the h3 header level from the user, causing a jump from heading level h2 directly to heading level h4. No information on h3 level headings is available for the screen reader.
  • 1.4.10 Responsiveness
When magnifying content by 400%, the graphs and tables on the pages require two-way scrolling

Improve the accessibility of the service

We are constantly working to improve accessibility and any shortcomings will be addressed during the system's next development cycle.
