Research data helps us make wiser decisions for future generations. The data collected in Future Finland will be used in future research examining the health and wellbeing of families with children, as well as the state and development of Finnish society.
To participate, we need your consent
The Future Finland study is now underway in Uusimaa region. Families expecting a baby are invited to participate. You can give it easily and securely online using strong authentication, such as mobile ID or online banking credentials.
If you have already given your consent and received an invitation to answer a questionnaire, you can respond to it using the same login.
We invite families expecting a baby to participate
The goal of Future Finland is to ensure that the future of children and young people is built on a sustainable, research‑based foundation for the next hundred years.
The documentary video produced for the launch tells of the hopeful feelings of four expectant couples in the midst of an uncertain future.
What the study means to my family?
We collect information through samples, measurements and short questionnaires as well as from national registers and other similar data sources. The samples are taken during routine pregnancy follow‑up visits and after delivery. The study does not involve any additional blood tests during pregnancy or your baby’s first year of life.
More information on participation
Future Finland is funded by the Finnish Cultural Foundation (SKR) and implemented by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).
