The Finnish Care Classification, FinCC 4.0 -User Guide the latest version available in English
The English version of the Finnish Care Classification User Guide version 1.4, used for structured documentation of nursing care, has been published. The Finnish Care Classification System (FinCC) consists of the Finnish Classification of Nursing Diagnoses (FiCND), the Finnish Classification of Nursing Interventions (FiCNI) and the Finnish Classification of Nursing Outcomes (FiCNO).
The main update of the FinCC User Guide version 1.4 concerned the revised the Finnish Classification of Nursing Outcomes (FiCNO 3.0) and its instructions for use. In addition, new categories were added to the Classifications of Nursing Diagnoses (FiCND) and the Nursing Interventions (FiCNI) and some of the previous subcategories were raised to the main category level. In addition to the instructions for using the classification, the guide contains examples that take into account the changes in all three classifications. The English-language guide is useful for educational institutions in teaching nursing documentation in English and also for health care organisations for english-speaking nurses. This user guide describes the Finnish Nursing Documentation Model and the content and use of the FinCC classifications as a tool for nursing documentation. The classifications are published on the National Code Server, where English-language categories and terms can be found.
