• Provides reliable analytics and reporting services that complement departmental work, including analyses, reports, and statistics.
• Participates in the development of data management, especially regarding classifications, concepts, and variable definitions.
• Responsible for analytics and reporting methods, software, and tools.
• Supports data quality assurance in its area of expertise.
• Develops competencies through training, guidance, and practical support. Responsible for data requests.

The unit is divided into two teams.

Reporting

Team Manager Heikki Siltala

The Reporting Team provides reliable, high-quality reporting services tailored to the needs of departments, complementing their own work. The team is responsible for reporting methods, practices, and key tools, as well as their development and maintenance. It supports reporting through expert assistance, guidance, and training, and promotes consistent and efficient practices across the organisation. In addition, the team contributes to the development of data quality by ensuring sound interpretation, presentation, and usability. The team also helps identify appropriate solutions for different reporting needs.

Analytics

Team Manager Antti Tuomi-Nikula

The Analytics Team develops THL’s analytics capabilities and methods by providing training, guidance, and hands-on support for data interpretation and the production of analyses. The team explores, tests, develops, and selects the best analytical methods for data production and integrates them into training. The team’s data request service handles internal and external requests for unit-level and statistical data. The team also contributes to quality work, in particular by validating the most important data sources.
