The unit

• Researches, develops and evaluates the child protection service system, protection of children, and work against violence.
• Acts as an expert and provides knowledge-based guidance in issues related to child protection and prevention of violence.
• Is responsible for organising certain services under state responsibility.

The unit is divided into three teams.

Work Against Violence

Team Manager Elisa Niklander

The team develops, evaluates and researches violence prevention, acts as an expert, produces a knowledge base and provides knowledge-based guidance on issues related to work against violence.

Child Protection

Team Manager Johanna Hedman

The team researches, develops and evaluates the child protection service system and protection of children, and provides expert support for decision-making, as well as for legislative preparation and implementation support.

Support for Safety and Security

Team Manager Sini Stolt

The team steers, develops, researches and evaluates, and organises services related to work against violence. The team develops and acts as an expert in issues related to children’s and young people’s digital safety and parenting support.
