Sampling and shipping
Please contact our laboratory preferably before sampling, so that we can agree together on matters such as the analysis schedule and provide guidance in sample collection.
- Always arrange sample shipment in advance and notify the expected arrival time in Kuopio well ahead. The sender is responsible for paying both freight and delivery costs.
- Choose the sample container material carefully to ensure that no compounds under investigation leach from the container into the sample. We can provide suitable sampling containers if needed. Avoid skin contact with the sample during collection to minimise contamination risk for analyses.
- Pack samples carefully and systematically, and label them clearly. Send perishable samples, such as fish and other tissue samples, frozen and well packed, for example in a cool box. To prevent thawing, send perishable samples so that they arrive on the same day they are dispatched.
- Include a completed analysis order form with all samples. The same order form can be used for multiple samples if the same analyses are performed on all of them. Attach a detailed sample list to the order form if necessary.
Send samples delivered to the destination, for example via Matkahuolto, by post or air freight. Samples must arrive by 3:00 p.m. (Mon–Thu) or by 12:00 noon (Fri).
