The project will build family work capacity and enhance information exchange in Finland and Republic of Karelia.

Objective

Under the Functional Children and Families Scheme "Effective Families" the project will work to build initial capacity for family work in the Republic of Karelia and Oulu Region. The project will enhance the development of child welfare indicator systems as well as cultural sensitivity in family work in the Republic of Karelia and Oulu Region of Finland.

Main activities

Workshops, study tours and training will be carried out in parallel in the Republic of Karelia and Oulu Region. Materials of the workshops, seminars and study tours will be collected and made available for further use. Information exchange will be promoted. The action is integrated in the ongoing reforms of family work both in Finland and the Republic of Karelia.

Expected results

  • Child welfare indicator system with a special focus on family work enhanced in Oulu Region and in the Republic of Karelia by means of information exchange (study tour, workshop, information package)
  • Cultural sensitivity in family work enhanced in Oulu Region and in the Republic of Karelia by means of information exchange (study tour, workshop, information package)
  • Trainings in Functional Children and Families Scheme implemented in Oulu Region and the Republic of Karelia, and a development and monitoring report prepared on the trainings
  • Joint publication of the project proceedings and other relevant papers in electronic or paper form will be prepared and made available to the partners and associated partners of the project with the aim of multiplier effects and mainstreaming of the project outputs in standard family work.
