MOnitoring Outbreak events for Disease surveillance in a data science context (MOOD), Horizon 2020
Integrated One-Health approach to disease surveillance: early detection, warning and monitoring threats using Big Data
Objectives
The MOOD project aims at developing epidemic intelligence (EI) tools and services for early detection, monitoring and assessment of signals of disease emergence of importance to Europe and European national Public and Veterinary health (PH/VH) agencies.
The innovative path of MOOD is based on the integration of user-needs into the development of tools and services for EI derived from better-integrated Big data sources. This user driven development will ensure a more effective integration of the tools and services into the daily EI activities.
Implementation
This horizon 2020 project includes 7 work packages: Interface with stakeholders for innovation, disease intelligence, data standardization and integration, modelling, development of pre-operational MOOD platform, dissemination of information and impact assessment and coordination.
Partners
The project is led by the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development (CIRAD). There are 25 partner organizations from 12 countries. More detailed information of partner organizations can be found in MOOD-website. The five partner/model countries in the development of the project tools and services are: Finland, France, Italy, Serbia and Spain.
