Technical Assistance for the Support for Children’s Rights in Turkey

The project gives Turkey technical assistance in order to enable the work to improve children's rights.

Objectives

Overall Objective: 

The overall objective is to achieve measurable progress towards the full enjoyment of all fundamental rights and freedoms by all individuals in Turkey without discrimination in all areas.

Results to be achieved: 

• Result 1. Coordination capacity of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services (MoFLSS) on child protection and awareness of the public are increased.
• Result 2. Standards, quality and accessibility of childcare services are improved. 
• Result 3. Capacity of the MoFLSS for monitoring and prevention of child labour is improved. 
• Result 4. New tools are developed for timely identification of children under vulnerable conditions and capacity of the MoFLSS for their treatment and rehabilitation is improved.

Implementation

The consortium partners will provide technical assistance to the MoFLSS in the following areas:

• improvement of child protection and childcare services
• prevention of child labour, including protection of refugees and most vulnerable children from abusive and exploitative labour situations, child victims of physical and/or sexual abuse
• identification, referral, treatment and rehabilitation of children under vulnerable conditions
• prevention of early marriages.

The consortium partners will conduct:

• analysis, studies and field studies, 
• define new modalities, standards and assessment tools, 
• implement piloting activities and 
• improve internal procedures of the MoFLSS.
