Promoting gender equality

In Finland, both the State and municipalities are tasked with the promotion of gender equality. During the past few decades, Finnish Governments have been committed to promoting gender equality in all of their decision-making. Gender equality is promoted by means of a dual strategy that comprises special measures for eliminating obstacles to gender equality as well as gender mainstreaming in all aspects of decision-making.
