Datasets and Dataproducts
The Datasets and Dataproducts Unit is responsible for THL’s data, including register and statistical products, as well as their development and maintenance. The unit also offers data development expertise and development support for new data products on a broader scale and provides guidance in their implementation.
The unit
- controls the content and steers the coordination of THL’s data production (data council)
- is responsible for the development and maintenance of THL’s Information Portfolio
- maintains and processes THL’s data, including the Biobank and quality registers
- develops, produces and publishes data products in a needs-based manner and is responsible for regular data production in the data department
- develops the national data repository for welfare and health promotion and social and health services
- reforms the data operating culture, harmonises operating methods and dismantles obstacles to the use of data
- is responsible for stakeholder and client relationships related to data and products with other units of the Data and analytics department
- is responsible for the development and commissioning of new data products and the coordination of the product repertoire
- actively participates in and steers the activities of cross-administrative data providers/data curation teams
