Interoperability and Quality
The Interoperability and Quality Unit coordinates and steers operations at the intersection between information architecture and data architecture.
The unit
- steers the management of interoperability and quality at the different stages of the data life cycle
- promotes the use of uniform data structures, concepts, vocabularies and classifications in healthcare and social welfare information management
- participates in national standardisation, classification and vocabulary work in the field of healthcare and social welfare
- participates in and influences international standardisation and classification work (e.g., HL7, OMOP, ICD, SNOMED CT)
- promotes national and international data architectures in healthcare and social welfare information management
- coordinates participation in international RDI projects related to healthcare and social welfare information management
- steers the implementation of the national classification strategy
- is responsible for the national code service and metadata management
- is responsible for THL’s data architecture
- is responsible for the uniform information management model in the national repository for welfare and health promotion, social and health services’ data and THL’s data production.
