Data Production and Methods
The Data Production and Methods Unit is responsible for THL’s data production processes, methods and tools as well as their development and maintenance. The unit also offers analytical and reporting expertise and offers support and guidance in their use.
The unit
- is responsible for data collection processes and methods and their development
- develops reporting methods and tools and provides guidance on their use
- develops and offers analytical competence and methods as well as tools
- tests and introduces new statistical and machine learning methods
- studies e.g., computer science and statistics, methods and technologies
- is responsible for implementing the methods (e.g., training) throughout THL
- participates in the planning and implementation of data production in cooperation with content specialists
- actively participates in the activities of cross-administrative data providers/data curation teams
- is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the usability of information resources and the integrity (quality) of the different materials contained in them
- owns and makes decisions on the information systems, technologies and solutions used in data production in cooperation with the digital services unit
- harmonises the processes and structures of THL’s current data production lines.
