The RAI database for service purchaser is a tool for service purchasers to analyse purchased service units.
The RAI database for service purchaser is intended for the wellbeing service county to review the purchased service units operating within the region.
The RAI-database for service purchaser enables the examination and comparison of purchased service units in your wellbeing service county, the comparison between in‑house service provision and purchased services, and comparisons against the national level.
Content
The RAI database for service purchaser contains benchmarking data from the past five years for service providers using the interRAI‑HC and RAI‑HC instruments in home care, and the interRAI‑LTCF and RAI‑LTC instruments in long‑term care. The data are divided into ten half‑year datasets.
The data are compiled from all clients who have received a full assessment in each unit. If a client has multiple assessments during the same half‑year period, only the most recent assessment is included in the benchmarking data.
The database is filtered by service organiser to show purchased service units as well as the organiser’s own units. The same purchased service unit may appear in several purchasers’ views. Clients within a unit are not grouped according to the purchaser.
Logging in to the RAI database for Service Purchaser
The RAI database for service purchaser is available to partner organisations participating in the jointly funded RAI benchmarking development. You will receive a login ID from the RAI contact person of your Wellbeing service county or your organisation.

Restrictions on benchmarking data and data protection
It is not possible to identify individual clients from the RAI benchmarking data. Suppression and aggregation rules are applied in the benchmarking databases to ensure data protection. All benchmarking databases suppress data based on fewer than five assessments.
More information on the restrictions applied to benchmarking data is available on the Frequently Asked Questions tab
