Extended EHR@EU Data Space for Primary Use (Xt-EHR)
Duration:
Unit at THL:
The aim of the project is to improve cooperation between EU Member States to ensure that health data generated during patient care are interoperable and that health data can be exchanged between Member States in a safe and secure way. The use of health data will focus on patient summaries, electronic prescription and drug dispensing, as well as the exchange of medical images, laboratory tests and discharge letters (epikrises).
Goals
The Xt-EHR project will support the European Commission's priority "A Europe fit for the Digital Age" by strengthening digital health systems in Europe.
Implementation
The project will prepare for the requirements of the European EHDS legislation on the primary use of health data. The project will align the requirements of the pending EHDS legislation with existing eHDSI (e-Health Digital Service Infrastructure for Europe) structures and its cross-border health services. The project will prepare implementing regulations, technical specifications and compliance of patient information systems, for example. This work will strengthen the implementation of the European Electronic Health Record Exchange Format (EEHRxF) for cross-border health services.
Partners
Cyprus (NeHA) is the coordinator of the consortium. The consortium has a total of 25 countries (partners) representing 54 different organisations. From Finland, the National Institute for Health and Welfare and the National Social Insurance Institution of Finland are involved.
