International collaboration

Since the first positive results of the FINGER, there has been increasing interest to adapt and test this intervention model in other countries. The World Wide FINGERSLink to an external websiteOpens in a new tab initiative  was launched to plan and execute similar trials worldwide and already more than 40 countries are participating. The network ensures effective implementation of dementia prevention worldwide.

In the NJ-FINGERS project funded by Nordforsk, THL studies the model's functionality in the Nordic countries and Japan, as principal partners the Karolinska Institutet (Sweden) and the National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology (Japan).
