Sample


The Finnish Mobile Clinic Follow-up Survey was carried out during 1973-1976 and its purpose was to study the incidence of certain national diseases, their determinants and the changes in the determinants.

The survey was carried out in the 12 study areas where the Coronary Heart Disease Study was completed as a part of the FMC (Method folder 2.2, 2.4). All the individuals invited to the original FMC were invited to the Follow-up Survey (AU_49).

Altogether 24 833 persons were invited to the Follow-up Survey and 19 518 of them participated (9885 men and 9633 women). The participation rate was 78.6%.  Among those who took part in the FMC 20 423 subjects were invited to the Follow-up Survey and 17 631 of them participated (8 830 men and 8 801 women) which makes 86.3%.
