Implementation

National Metadata Descriptions (Digitaalisten tietoaineistojen kansallinen kuvausjärjestelmä in Finnish) was a joint project of the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), Statistics Finland, Finnish Social Science Data Archive (FSD) and Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra. It was pre-production project of the Isaacus project (the Digital Health HUB) and it co-operated with other pre-production projects.

Results

The project developed a national metadata description model and services. In addition, variable and classification-level pilot metadata descriptions were produced from the data of several registry holders.

As a pilot of the metadata catalogue, THL's Metadata catalogue (Aineistoluettelo in Finnish) was published on 14 December 2016, which was later removed.
