Microbiological analysis
Building material samples collected by customers are analysed with a cultivation method in the Laboratory of environmental microbiology at THL.
The concentrations and taxonomy of microbes in the samples are determined by using an accredited method that is in accordance with the Housing Health Decree and the application guidelines issued in the said decree. The information provided in the report to the customer includes the microbial concentrations and an assessment of whether the results of the microbial analysis indicate microbial growth in the sample.

The unit is a FINAS accredited testing laboratory T077. It has been accredited according to the standard SFS-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and its scope of accreditation is available on the website of FINAS (Finnish Accreditation Service).
