Environmental Health Unit 

  • produces and refines data on the population’s exposure to different environmental factors
  • assesses and studies human health risks and benefits caused by environmental factors
  • serves as a reference laboratory for certain microbiological methods related to housing health and chemical methods.

Focus areas of the unit’s activities:

  • moisture damage
  • indoor air
  • environmental pollutants
  • urban air pollution (including transport and wood burning)
  • environmental noise
  • health impacts of climate change
  • health impacts of urban environments.
