Courses related to the promotion of wellbeing and health – Knowledge-based management for promoting wellbeing and health

Course description and learning objectives 

This online training course strengthens skills in knowledge-based management and the use of data and provides practical examples of promoting wellbeing and health as part of municipal management. Through the course, you will learn how to search for and use reliable information. The course uses, among other examples, the Benchmarking system of health promotion capacity building (TEAviisari) and the School Health Survey.

After completing the online training course, you will be able to use information to promote the wellbeing and health of residents in municipalities, schools, or educational institutions. Once you have completed the course, you can also organise a training session yourself, for example for a wellbeing group.

Duration and content of the course 

You can complete the course at your own pace. Reserve at least one hour for completion. The total scope, including learning assignments, is two ECTS credits. One ECTS credit corresponds to approximately 27 hours of student work. The workload per credit varies individually depending on familiarity with the topic and prior knowledge.

The web-based course provides practical examples of promoting wellbeing and health as part of municipal management. The course consists of six modules. At the end of the online training course, you can test your knowledge and receive a certificate.

Important information about the course 

You can complete the course Knowledge-based management for promoting wellbeing and health at your own pace on the Moodle platform. To access the course platform, first create a username and password.

It is also possible to join as a guest without registration. However, we recommend registering and enrolling in the course, as this gives you access to all Moodle functionalities and the course certificate. As a guest, you cannot take the final exam, track your progress, or receive the course certificate by email.

The online course is available only in Finnish.

Target audience 

This online training course is intended for municipal wellbeing coordinators and planners, principals, managers, presenters and preparers, as well as elected officials.
