Field examination data
The data includes the home interview performed by the health nurse, the basic questionnaire completed by the participant, symptom- and disease- specific interviews and questionnaires completed during the health investigation. Furthermore, it consists of numerous measurements and tests: e.g. dental nurse examination, blood pressure, ECG, chest X-ray, spirometry (i.e. pulmonary functional capacity), and muscular strength measurements, joint function examination and psychological tests. Basic biochemical measurements were immediately made based on the urinary and blood samples. Based on the findings of the screening, about every third participant was invited to the re-examination, including physician’s examination and diagnostic evaluation, hand X-ray, additional interviews and questionnaires, and repeated measurements.
