Personnel in local government health and social services
The turnover rate in municipal health and social services was 11 per cent in 2014.
A total of 258 567 people worked in municipal health and social services in 2014. There were 132 387 people working in health services and 126 180 in social services. A total of 6143 people worked in public administration in the health and social service sector as a whole. The figures do not include services purchased from the private sector.
The number of personnel remained nearly unchanged in 2014. The numbers of physicians, nurses, practical nurses, social work instructors and early childhood educators increased, while there was a slight decrease in the numbers of private childminders and hospital and institutional helpers.
The turnover rate in municipal health and social services was 11 per cent in 2014. Social workers had the highest turnover rate.
Women accounted for 90.4 per cent of the personnel. Average age of the personnel was 44.7 years, showing no change on 2013. Of the personnel in 2014, 28.5 per cent will be 65 years of age by 2025 and 43.6 per cent by 2030.
