The Welfare Epidemiology and Monitoring Unit
- acts as a specialist in health, disease and welfare monitoring and the use of the relevant knowledge base
- monitors, assesses and predicts welfare, health, functional capacity, disease burden and mortality of the population and population groups
- develops and maintains a comprehensive, cost-effective and reliable knowledge base of the population health and welfare for knowledge-based management
- develops assessment and foresight methods related to health and illnesses and carries out epidemiological and public health research
- carries out impact and cost-effectiveness research related to infection control and health interventions.
