Course description and learning objectives

The online course provides information on human trafficking and how health and social services are  organised for victims of human trafficking. The course also strengthens professionals’ competence in key areas when working with victims of human trafficking. The aim is to increase understanding of how control can affect an individual’s situation and their opportunities to act.

Duration and content of the course

The total duration of the course is approximately 2 hours. If you wish, you can complete only the module most relevant to your professional group.
The course provides information on human trafficking, health and social services for victims, and tools for situations where  concern about possible human trafficking  arises. The course focuses on work with adults.

The online course consists of four parts:

  • Introduction to human trafficking and the organisation of health and social services for victims
  • How I can provide help in social services
  • How I can provide care in healthcare
  • Advancing your expertise

This is an online course that you can complete at your own pace.
At the end of it, you can take an exam and receive a certificate of completion.

The course is available in Finnish.
