Alexandre Kolev

Head of the Social Cohesion Unit

Dr. Alexandre Kolev heads the Social Cohesion Unit at the OECD Development Centre.

Alexandre holds a PhD in Labor Economics from the European University Institute, Florence, Italy, a MSc in Economics from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) and a BA in Russian studies from the Institute of Oriental Studies, Paris. He began his professional career as a Research Economist for UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre, Florence, Italy, and later joined the Young Professional Program of the World Bank as an Economist. At the World Bank, he has held various positions in the Infrastructure Front Office, the Poverty Reduction and Economic Management unit for Europe and Central Asia, and the Social Protection group in the Middle East and North Africa Region.

Before joining the OECD, Alexandre was heading the Employment and Skills Development Programme at the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITC-ILO). Alexandre has also worked for the Education and Vocational Training Division of the Agence Française de Développement.
