Pablo Suárez Robles
Economist
Pablo Suárez Robles is a Ph.D. Economist specialised in development, labour, youth and gender economics. Since 2014, he works as an Economist at the Social Cohesion Unit of the OECD Development Centre in Paris, where he led the implementation of the EU-OECD Youth Inclusion Project in African partner countries before joining in 2018 the EU Social Protection Systems Programme.
Between 2010 and 2013, he worked as an Associate Expert from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as a Programme Officer at the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITC-ILO) in Turin. In this capacity, he was the Technical Coordinator of the EU/ITC-ILO RECAP Project and a Coordinator, Lecturer and Thesis Supervisor at an ILO-supported Master Programme in Applied Labour Economics for Development (MALED) of the Turin School of Development (TSD). He also conducted research works and contributed to the preparation and delivery of various training courses in English, French and Spanish on labour market issues.
Previously, he carried out consultancy and short-term assignments for the ILO Department of Statistics in Geneva, the World Bank’s Office of the Chief Economist for the Africa Region in Washington D.C., and the French Development Agency in Paris.
Pablo holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC), and a Magistère of Economics from the Paris School of Economics (University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne).
