The aims of the Helsinki Psychotherapy Study (HPS) are
- the evaluation of the effectiveness of psychotherapies used in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorder patients
- the examination of sufficiency of treatments and
- evaluation of factors related to suitability to short- vs. long-term therapies.
The study is based on a comprehensive quantitative and qualitative database of patient-, therapist- and therapy-related variables on several outcome dimensions, with 15 repeated measurements during a 10-year follow-up. Numerous articles have been published.
